What to Expect at a Class

MeditationWhat happens at our weekly meditation classes?

Our weekly drop-in classes provide a friendly and informal environment to learn to meditate. The class begins with a simple meditation to still the mind, and end with tea and biscuits!

Simple and practical techniques

The meditation practices we exlpain are all based on Buddhas discovery that lasting happiness can be found within the mind. Through meditation, we can establish for ourselves a deep and stable experience of peace and contentment.

Drop-in Classes

The classes are ideal whether you are a complete beginner or have practiced meditation before. You can join a course at any time, there will probably be other new people there as well.

In each class, the Teacher will give a short talk about a particular subject, and guide us in a meditation on that topic. This will give us some practical experience we can take away and apply in our daily lives. Each class is self-contained, so you can come to an individual class or a whole series of courses.

We meditate sitting on chairs to ensure everyone is comfortable. There is no physical exercise involved, so you don't need to wear special clothing or bring anything with you.
