Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Jampel Centre was established by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. He designed the three study programmes that are taught here, and appointed Gen Kelsang Kunden to be his representative in Kent.
Resident Teacher
The Resident Teacher at Jampel Centre is Gen Kelsang Kunden. She is a Buddhist nun who was ordained by Geshe Kelsang in 2001. Kunden studies on the NKT Teacher Training Programme, and in 2002 she was asked by Venerable Geshe-la to be the Resident Teacher in Canterbury to share her understanding and experience with others.
