Jampel Buddhist
Centre is happy to provide a speaker to visit schools. An ordained Buddhist monk
or nun will come in to give an introduction to modern Buddhist practice, guide
some meditation, and answer questions.
We have found these visits to be well recieved by children of all ages, as it
gives them an opportunity to appriciate Buddhism as a living religion. We can
tailor the talk to suit any particular aspect of Buddhism that the syllabus requires.
The talk and questions typically last for 45 mins - 1 hour.
Visiting
the Centre We can accept small groups (of up to 30 children) here at the
Centre. This is ideal, as it allows them to see an authentic Buddhist shrine and
get a feel for a modern Buddhist community. We would recommend 1 1/2 hours for
a visit.
